What is kappa board?
Kappa board — also called grey board, greyboard, solid board, or millboard — is a thick multi-ply recycled fibre board used for rigid box making, book binding, file covers, and premium packaging. Sowji Papers manufactures kappa board in 1.0–4.0 mm thickness (650–2600 gsm) at our Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu facility.
What is the difference between kappa board and duplex board?
Kappa board (grey board) is a thick, rigid structural board (1.0–4.0 mm) used as the core of rigid boxes and book covers. Duplex board is a thinner, lighter board (180–450 gsm) with a coated surface for folding cartons, retail, pharma, and FMCG packaging.
What is the difference between kappa board and chipboard?
Chipboard is a lower-cost grey board for file covers and slip sheets. Kappa board is a premium grade with tighter caliper control, higher stiffness, and better surface quality — ideal for luxury rigid boxes and book binding.
